The Nursery

This one is a bit overdue, seeing as the 'little miss' in question is now one year old. I thought I might share some photos with you.

She adores the vintage fabric on the pillowcase I made her from Donna Flower, sometimes I creep into her room and she is talking and pointing to the animals. I am going to make her dolly a matching one.
The little vintage top is from Little Vintage, she has worn it and it does look beautiful, it came with a matching nappy cover but it is lined in really thick plastic, needless to say they have not been worn, how uncomfortable for little ones.
The elephant mobile I made myself, its still not finished I need to add some clouds, rainbows and raindrops.
The blocks I made from an old annual that I found at the bootsale, again I always fall for beautiful illustrations. I also found the blocks there that were made in the 60's and were varnished as playing blocks.

The little toadstool Lamp I have had since I was little, my great aunt bought it for me but I have never had it on, my dad always promised to get the right bulb and put a plug on it but it never happened so now I have put that right and it works. The cat money box I bought at a bootsale for 50p- bargain!!
The pictures are from Trafalgar square on etsy, I love the illustrations and have bought some for friends as well, they are super sweet and its hard to choose. The frames were bought from Battlesbridge antiques centre as samples of a shabby chic man's work, they weren't really for sale but somehow they came home with me.
The last picture is a quilt I made a few years ago with no-one to give it to, I never thought I would have a girl after having a boy first, silly me.
And that's about it, I hope she enjoys the things that surround her, they have certainly been chosen or made with love.

Shhhh!! we are sleeping

Two very sleepy bunnies have their own patchwork blankets and wool stuffed pillows, with a little crochet detail. They have somewhere to hang their clothes and rest their weary heads what more could a bunny possibly need? Maybe something to occupy themselves with....

perhaps some knitting

Whilst not doing the housework I  have been playing, I found these bunny bunk beds in a local antiques yard last year and thought they would be perfect for the bunnies so I went back to save them.

It was painted a bright blue with brown varnish, under all the grime I found this cute print on the bottom of a bunk, it had been covered in sticky glue and stripey brown paper. I washed it and it actually came up ok, but it had ripped so I have saved it for a smaller project.
.

Here are some more lost friends in their new home.

The one at the bottom isn't too sure?
]Thanks, again to Jane from teawagon tales for sourcing me some more of the blue wallpaper. There is a little thankyou on its way to you.

Enjoy the rest of the week, I am off to find more reasons to avoid housework.

Crunchy moment

Just go with it my titles are always a little obscure. I am soooo excited and I just cant hide it. I am totally living my childhood through my children and getting them all the things I have ever wanted. I could go totally crazy but I must be a little restrained so I don't spoil them....

The bunnies have a huge surprise waiting for them here are some sneak peeks because its not quite ready at the moment. I have lost the nuts and bolts so you will have to bear with me to wait for the reveal, hopefully not too long because this definitely is a play toy. Thank you Jane from Little Teawagon for helping me out with some extra wallpaper that I needed to finish it off

Miss Maggie has her new pink hooded coat ready to wear. I bought the cutest buttons from here they are different shapes and assorted pastel colours. And the yarn was left over from this vest pattern here I handspun it from some pink merino I had left over when I went through a felting stage making bags until they came out of my ears. I mixed in some firestar sparkle and voila Miss Maggie rabbit has a sparkly pink hooded coat to wear.

Have a great rest of the week, I shall be beavering away in my own little world
